Some voice commands may not work as intended when using Android Auto.
- Playback does not start even when the exact song title is spoken.
- A different track from the one requested plays, or another music app begins playing music.
These issues may occur depending on your Android Auto voice assistant settings and app status.
Adjusting your settings may resolve the problem. Please try the following steps in order:
*The process and terminology may vary depending on your OS and device specifications. For detailed instructions on how to operate your device, please contact support for your device or its manufacturer.
■ Change Voice Assistant Setting to Google Assistant
- Open the Google app.
- Tap the account icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Tap "Settings".
- Tap "Gemini".
- Tap "Digital assistants from Google".
- Select "Google Assistant".
- Tap "Switch".
*After changing your settings, you will need to reconnect your car to Android Auto.
If you are using a cable, disconnect the cable and reconnect it. If you are using a wireless connection, turn off your car's engine and restart it.
■ Remove the Default Music App Setting for Google Assistant
- Open the Google app.
- Tap the account icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Tap "Settings".
- Tap "Google Assistant".
- Tap "Music".
- Select "No default provider".
■ Keep Nintendo Music Open in the Foreground on Android Auto
After following the steps above, try using voice commands to initiate playback using only the track name or playlist name, without including the app name (Nintendo Music).
Example: "Play Animal Crossing".
